Professional cyclist John Degenkolb has been infected with the coronavirus.
The 33-year-old announced on Twitter that a routine test had come back positive. "So. Now I've been caught too," wrote the classics specialist from Team DSM, posting a photo of his self-test result.
Unfortunately, this also means that he will not be able to start the Tour of Belgium, which starts this Wednesday, as planned. "But don't worry, I'm fine and fortunately the symptoms are mild. I'll be back soon," said Degenkolb.
