After 19.6 kilometres in Munich's Olympic Park, 34-year-old Sascha Weber won by 39 seconds ahead of Marcel Meisen (Stevens), who had recently won the German cyclo-cross championship title six times in a row. For Weber, who mainly races MTB marathons in addition to cyclo-cross, this is his first DM success after five second places. Michael Gaßner came third.
Judith Krahl had confidently won the women's race of the national cyclocross championship in Germany the day before. After winning three titles in a row in the U23 category, the 21-year-old claimed her first elite championship. At the finish line, second-placed Lisa Heckmann was 1:53 minutes behind Krahl, with third-placed Stefanie Paul a minute further back. Defending champion and six-time German cyclocross champion Elisabeth Brandau was not at the start due to her pregnancy.
