Roubaix (dpa) - Just 14 hours after winning sprint silver, Lea Sophie Friedrich has set course for the next medal at the Track Cycling World Championships in Roubaix.
The 21-year-old defending champion finished second in qualifying for the 500-metre time trial in the Vélodrome and is one of the big favourites for the final on Saturday evening (from 17:30/Eurosport). Pauline Grabosch (fifth) and Alessa Catriona Pröpster (eighth) also made it into the final of the best eight. So far, the German Cycling Federation (BDR) has won six medals at the title fights in northern France.
