The day after the opening ceremony, the cycling action gets underway at the Olympic Games in Tokyo: on 24 July, the men will compete for medals in the road race. On the following day, it's the women's turn around Mount Fuji. This will be followed by competitions in the individual time trial and on the track in Izu

The XXXII Olympic Games will take place in Tokyo from 23 July to 8 August 2021. The men's road race will open the Olympic cycling programme on Saturday 24 July. After the start in Tokyo, the route leads to Mount Fuji and ends after 234 kilometres and 4,865 metres of elevation gain on the Fuji International Speedway motorsport track. The women's route the following day is not quite as difficult - the start and finish are the same. It covers 137 kilometres and 2,692 metres of elevation gain. The women's and men's individual time trial races will follow on 28 July. From 2 August, the track cyclists will be chasing medals in six disciplines on the track in Izu.

The schedule for the cycling competitions (road and track) of the Olympic Games (all times CEST). ARD/ZDF and Eurosport broadcast cycling from Japan. The time in Japan is seven hours earlier than in Germany, so you have to get up early for some broadcasts.
