Hamburg (dpa) - After his crash at the Tour of Poland and an initial operation on site, professional cyclist Marcus Burghardt will have to undergo another procedure in Hamburg, the 38-year-old announced on Twitter.
Burghardt suffered a multiple fracture to his right wrist, which was also dislocated, in a crash on the 216-kilometre opening stage from Lublin to Chelm. The rider from the German team Bora-hansgrohe tweeted a photo showing him in his hospital bed. His right forearm in plaster, his left thumb up.
