The traditional Bremen six-day race for professional cyclists will not take place in January 2023 either.
Too many uncertainties for six-day races
There are too many uncertainties "on sober reflection", the shareholders announced in a joint statement on Friday. "People's reluctance to spend in times of the gas crisis and inflation, as well as the unclear coronavirus situation with as yet unforeseeable official requirements at the turn of the year, make the risk too great for everyone to produce a successful six-day race."
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the "Sixdays" had to be cancelled in 2021 and 2022.
