At the age of 41, para-cyclist Matthias Schindler has won his first World Championship title at the title fights in Scotland. The Regensburg-born cyclist, who is handicapped by incomplete paraplegia, won the C3 individual time trial on the road over 17 kilometres in Dumfries ahead of the British favourite Finlay Graham.
Schindler thus secured the second world championship title for German para-cyclists on the road, after tricycle rider Maximilian Jäger had won the T2 class the day before.
