John Degenkolb still hasn't had enough. He will also be travelling as a professional next year - and will therefore be taking part in his home race again.

German professional cyclist John Degenkolb will continue his career with Team Picnic-PostNL for at least one more season. The 37-year-old made the announcement ahead of his home race Eschborn-Frankfurt. "Today I can say: This year will not be my last. I will definitely continue as a professional cyclist next year and attack the 2027 season," Degenkolb told Hessischer Rundfunk (HR). His contract would have expired at the end of this year.

Degenkolb won Milan-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix

Degenkolb's greatest successes include his victories in the cycling monuments Milan-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix eleven years ago. He also won a stage at the Tour de France in 2018 and triumphed in Frankfurt in 2011. The classics specialist said he was delighted with the team's confidence in him and added: "And also about what still awaits me until the end of my career."
