Auf der 11. Etappe der Tour wurde ein Rekord aufgestellt.
The Tour de France has never been this fast before. A new record has been set with an average speed of 50.91 kilometres per hour.

Not even Mario Cipollini’s records can stop the Tour de France. On the eleventh stage from Vichy to Nevers, won by the Norwegian Søren Wærenskjold, the fastest average speed in the history of the Tour – excluding time trials and the prologue – was recorded. Tadej Pogacar and his team-mates covered an average of 50.91 kilometres per hour.

The previous record dated back to 1999, when the super-sprinter Cipollini raced to victory on the stage from Laval to Blois at an average speed of 50.356 kilometres per hour.
