Mathieu van der Poel became Gravel World Champion on Sunday
Mathieu van der Poel confidently took victory at the 2024 Gravel World Championships in Belgium and thus his next rainbow jersey. The Dutchman's collection of world championship titles is impressive, but does not come close to that of Marianne Vos, the new gravel world champion. Together, the two have won a total of 22 World Championship titles across all disciplines.

Cyclocross, road and gravel: Mathieu van der Poel secured the next rainbow jersey in the next cycling discipline at the Gravel World Championships on Sunday. The Dutchman won by more than a minute ahead of second-placed Florian Vermeersch (Belgium). It was van der Poel's eighth world championship title in a total of three different disciplines. "It's super nice to add another rainbow jersey in a different discipline to the collection," said the Dutchman, delighted with his latest achievement.
