After the Alps, the 109th Tour de France makes a detour to the Massif Central. On Saturday, the 14th stage leads over 192.5 kilometres from Saint-Etienne to Mende.
Although no mountain giants await the riders, there are four climbs of the third and one of the second category. The last three kilometres up to the airfield are particularly challenging with an average gradient of 10.2 per cent. In total, the riders have to climb over 3400 metres in altitude.
