Giro d'Italia 2023: Leknessund gives up the pink jersey

The 23-year-old young star once again took the pink jersey, which the Norwegian Andreas Leknessund had previously won on the fourth stage and successfully defended ever since.

The German professional cyclist Lennard Kämna from Team Bora-Hansgrohe rode to twelfth place on the 35-kilometre flat time trial from Savignano sul Rubicone to Cesena in the Emilia-Romagna region thanks to a solid performance. The 26-year-old improved from tenth to ninth place in the overall standings, 2:37 minutes behind Evenepoel. Team-mate Alexander Vlasov finished eighth in the time trial.

The professional cyclists have a rest day on Monday. On the tenth stage on Tuesday, they will then have to tackle the 196-kilometre course between Scandiano and Viareggio.
