The route of the Giro d'Italia Women 2026
The route for the upcoming women's Giro d'Italia has been finalised. It will run from 30 May to 7 June 2026 over nine stages from Cesenatico on the Adriatic coast to Saluzzo in Piedmont. The highlight will be the ride over the Colle delle Finestre gravel pass. The route covers a total of 1,153 kilometres

The race starts on 30 May 2026 in Cesenatico, the home town of Marco Pantani. After nine stages with a total of 1,153 kilometres and 12,500 metres of climbing, the overall winner will be crowned in Saluzzo in Piedmont. Along the way, there will be an individual time trial over 12.7 kilometres on the Nevegal (stage 4) and the queen stage with a mountain arrival in Sestriere (stage 8). Before the finish on the eighth day of the race, the female professional cyclists will have to climb over the Colle delle Finestre on the way to the Sestrie ski station. "This is the climb that will decide this Giro," said Elisa Longo Borghini at the route presentation. The 33-year-old Italian from Team UAE-ADQ recently won the overall classification twice. This year, the British rider Simon Yates used the gravelled pass road to Finestre to launch a winning attack in the race for the men's pink jersey. The special "Cima Alfonsina Strada" prize for women is awarded at the summit.
