Roger Kluge (l) und Theo Reinhardt mussten sich im Zweier-Mannschaftsfahren bei der Bahnrad-WM mit dem achten Platz geschlagen geben.
The two European champions Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt clearly missed out on a medal in the two-man team race at the Track Cycling World Championships in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.

The successful duo had to settle for eighth place after 50 kilometres on the 2024 Olympic track. Instead, the two Frenchmen Donavan Grondin and Benjamin Thomas took the title ahead of the Brits Ethan Hayter and Oliver Wood and the Belgians Fabio van den Bossche and Lindsay de Vylder.

Kluge and Reinhardt have been specialists in the Madison for years. The duo won the World Championship title in 2018 and 2019 and followed it up with bronze in 2020. The pair also won the title at the most recent European Championships in Munich.
