Verzichtet auf die Tour und die WM: Giro-Sieger Primoz Roglic.

After his victory at the Giro d'Italia, professional cyclist Primoz Roglic is not expected to start again until the Tour of Spain.

The 33-year-old announced this on Slovenian television. Roglic and his team Jumbo-Visma had already decided at the start of the season that he would not start in the Tour de France, especially as the Dutch team has Jonas Vingegaard from Denmark as the defending champion. Roglic will probably also miss out on the World Championships in Scotland in August.

Roglic narrowly missed out on overall victory at the Tour in 2020 when compatriot Tadej Pogacar snatched the yellow jersey from him in the decisive time trial on the penultimate day. Roglic has won the Vuelta, the third-largest three-week tour, three times in his career to date.
