Kristina Vogel: "Dream that I will be able to walk again one day"

The paraplegic Olympic champion Kristina Vogel dreams of being able to walk again one day.

This Monday marks the fifth anniversary of the eleven-time track cycling world champion's serious training accident. Since then, Vogel has been active in many areas, most recently acting as an ambassador for the "Wings for Life World Run" event.

"Almost 11,00 people ran in Munich, 200,000 people worldwide. It's all so crazy. They are all running for a message," Vogel told the internet portal Sport1, referring to the motto "Walk for those who can't". "To a certain extent, they're all running for me. For my dream that one day I will be able to walk again and that my paraplegia will one day be curable," added Vogel.
