Following the merger of the women's team Liv Racing TeqFind with the Jayco-AlUla racing team, the newly formed women's team will compete under the name Liv AlUla Jayco in 2024 and will also receive a new jersey design - just like the men's racing team of the operating company GreenEdge Cycling.
Blue and white continue to feature on the outfits of Simon Yates and Co. However, a bright orange colour has now been added, which shines on the belly section of the men's and women's jerseys. The women's outfit, on the other hand, changes from orange to an aubergine colour in the chest area. The clothing is manufactured by Alé.
And the jerseys have already proved their worth in the first races of the season. At the Australian Road Championships, the favoured home team, which is sponsored by the Saudi Arabian tourism region AlUla and the motorhome manufacturer Jayco, won the women's and men's titles. The women's race was won by Ruby Roseman-Gannon ahead of Lauretta Hanson (Lidl-Trek). Another Liv AlUla Jayco rider, Alexandra Manly, finished on the podium.
There was even a triple triumph for Team Jayco-AlUla in the men's race. Luke Plapp and Chris Harper pulled away from the rest of the peloton early on. In the end, Plapp won ahead of Harper. Around six minutes later, Kelland O'Brien decided the sprint of the peloton in his favour. Newcomer Plapp, who came from Ineos Grenadiers, won the Australian road championship for the third time in a row. The 23-year-old also won the individual time trial title last Thursday.
