The pressure was already weighing on her, more than she wanted to admit, said the 25-year-old in the podcast on "sportschau.de". "Because I was world champion in all three disciplines that were held at the Olympics, every interview said: 'Now you're going to win three gold medals too'. Then I was so stressed that I was more afraid of making a mistake. That's inhibiting," said Hinze, who will be competing at the World Championships in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines this Wednesday.
In Tokyo, Hinze won silver in the team sprint together with Lea Sophie Friedrich, but came away empty-handed in the individual disciplines.
"I already tried to do it differently at the last World Cup. I think it's working quite well. I'm not letting it get to me like that," emphasised Hinze and explained: "I worked with a sports psychologist last year. And had lots of conversations with my coach. The rest I work out on my own." After the Olympic Games, she picked up her old form, became world champion twice in Roubaix and won the Champions League.
