Die Fahrer des Bahrain-Victorious-Teams gedenken Gino Mäder.
The 110th Tour de France has opened with an emotional moment. At the team presentation in Bilbao, Spain, the team of the fatally injured professional cyclist Gino Mäder was first called to the stage at the Guggenheim Museum. A minute's silence was held in memory of the Swiss rider.
"It was nice to think of him again during the tour. He's always with me in my head and in my heart," Phil Bauhaus told the German Press Agency. The sprinter learnt of his team-mate's death at the Tour of Slovenia during the Tour de Suisse just over a fortnight ago.
