The geometry of the aluminium frame with its long head tube and short top tube allows an upright, touring-friendly riding position that suits both long-distance and occasional riders. Like the Movistar bikes, the brakes and drivetrain come from Campagnolo. Instead of expensive super-record components, however, Canyon uses the visually very similar mid-range Athena groupset. It does without carbon and uses a simpler shifting mechanism than the top-of-the-range groupset. The laterally stiff wheels also come from Campa. The 25 millimetre wide top tyres make a significant difference compared to the tyres normally used in this price range. The handlebars, which are angled towards the rider and wrapped in high-quality tape, are comfortable to hold. The Ardea saddle from Fizik with a longitudinal channel in the seat, on the other hand, was not our cup of tea.
Conclusion: Comfort racer with a professional look. Stable ride, well equipped,
exceptionally good price-performance ratio
