Gios Tornado 2014
Smooth-running, straightforward carbon racer with Italian genes. Relaxed riding position, good damping on the saddle

The Italian cult brand now has Japanese owners, but long-time patron Alfredo Gios is still involved as a consultant and face of the brand. Production no longer takes place in Turin, but in Taiwan. The latest addition to the range is the Tornado carbon frame, which is right on trend with internal cables and a slim seat post. With its relatively long head tube, the frame already falls into the marathon category. This categorisation is also supported by the rather long wheelbase, which gives the bike good directional stability. Slight weaknesses in the fork and bottom bracket stiffness spoil the result somewhat, but this is not a cause for concern. Thanks to large-volume top-of-the-range Conti tyres and a carbon seat post that flexes well, the bike is pleasantly cushioned.
