Cannondale also designed its disc brake bike as a marathon racer and offers the Synapse as a version with discs. What is remarkable about the frameset, apart from the detailed design, is the good comfort value of the fork, which none of the other test bikes achieved. The riding position is slightly more upright, typical of a marathon, but still sporty; the generous wheelbase and stiff frame give you a lot of confidence at high speeds. The price is impressive, but the equipment with Dura-Ace drivetrain, lightweight Enve carbon rims on DT Swiss hubs and the elaborate Hollowgram cranks are classy; the brake discs, which are too small for use in the mountains, are also worthy of criticism here. The lifetime guarantee on the frameset is worth mentioning.
