BMC Granfondo GF01 Disc 2014
Long-distance rider with outstanding saddle comfort and marathon geometry. Mountain transmission, but flatland brakes.

With a high level of saddle comfort, good directional stability thanks to the long wheelbase and a relaxed riding position, the striking Granfondo is predestined for use as a long-distance bike. 28 millimetre wide GP 4Season tyres from Continental, wheels from the mountain bike shelf (!) from DT Swiss and the comfortable Aliante saddle make you forget the high equipment weight, as they fit into the concept; the relatively thin aluminium handlebars are less comfortable to grip. At first glance, the Ultegra gearing with the smallest gear ratio of 34/32 also qualifies the BMC for extended mountain tours, possibly even with luggage. However, the 140 millimetre brake discs are completely undersized. Even less heavy riders weighing around 75 kilograms should definitely upgrade their brakes before heading into the high mountains.
