After several years as a specialist retail brand, Trenga.de radically switched to direct sales in 2009. Our purchasing experience confirms that the Hamburg-based company was consistent in its approach: advice both online and over the phone was among the best in the test. The sober aluminium frame - like many in the test, comparatively heavy but stiff - can hardly be rattled and is also suitable for heavy riders. The equipment on offer is good class average; to make better use of the budget, we were also suggested the higher-quality Ksyrium Elite wheels as an upgrade. With the triple crankset, a recommendation after detailed consultation, even novices are well equipped for tough climbs. However, a different gear ratio would have been possible without any problems.
