It's worth remembering that the Madone 5.9, with all its eye-catching details, is "only" number two in the US brand's road bike programme; number one is and remains the Madone 6.9. The wealth of individual solutions - including the comfort seatpost typical of Trek, a transmitter for the computer integrated into the chainstay and clever cable routing - is also remarkable because the price is moderate by Trek standards. The frameset itself is around 100 grams heavier than the Madone 6.9, but stiffer and therefore more stable. Because Trek also leaves nothing to be desired
and fitted very good Ultegra wheels, among other things, the bike surprisingly, but deservedly, wins the test together with Storck.
