It's hard to get close to real professional racers: either the pros are sitting on them or the team mechanics are watching them with suspicious eyes. Exclusively for TOUR, the three German pro teams made an exception. In the comparison test: the Colnago "Extreme Power Ale-Jet" from Milram, the Giant "TCR Advanced ISP Team" from T-Mobile and the Specialised "S-Works Tarmac SL" from Gerolsteiner. (TOUR 7/2007)

Our team bike is the best, no question about it! " Alessandro Petacchi, Andrea Moletta and Giuseppe Guerini all agree on that. However, each of the three is talking about a different bike: the Italian pros from the German teams Milram, Gerolsteiner and T-Mobile were kind enough to make their equipment available for a TOUR comparison test. In order to elicit all their technical secrets, we completely dismantled and measured them, just like every other test bike. The exciting question: Do professionals really ride standard equipment?

SHORT & SHORT
For the first time, the bikes of the three German pro teams took part in the TOUR test. We dismantled and measured them like any other test bike. The geometry, weight and stiffness data of the three top racers are no longer a secret. Result: Our top athletes are not breaking any records, nor are they prototypes. These professional racers are damn close to the series.
