Have you ever been to a district league match? Don't turn up your nose straight away - there are also exciting games where you can observe interesting things: up-and-coming talents, for example, who attract attention with their commitment and enthusiasm, and dazzlers who run out of breath after a few minutes of pushing the ball around. Our test of the "racing bike category" is no different: at first glance, they are all racing bikes. The prices end at 800 euros - but do you get up-and-coming talents with the ability to achieve higher things? Or do you get dazzlers who hide slight fitness weaknesses behind their beautiful appearance? Let's take a closer look.
Short & sweet
The eleven road bikes priced up to 800 euros are all pleasingly safe to ride and almost all are recommended for heavy riders. Only the bike from Fondriest is below the class average. Although the inexpensive speedsters are heavier than necessary, with weights of up to ten kilos you still get a real racing bike feeling. The biggest drawback: uncomfortable cheap saddles, which you should plan to have replaced when buying.
