The first Comet weighed in at TOUR-Test 11/2012 an incredible 5.1 kilos. Not only because such lightweight excesses are now somewhat out of fashion, the current, second generation is considerably heavier. For the test, Stevens sent us the disc brake version of the Comet, which naturally weighs more than the parallel model with rim brakes. Together with lightweight carbon wheels from Mavic, add-on parts from Ritchey and the Red eTap HRD groupset from SRAM, the test bike came in at a precise 7.0 kilos. However, this is still very light for a road bike with disc brakes - we have only ever had two even lighter disc bikes on the scales.
