Test 2018: Cross bikes from 2700 to 4200 euros

Since cross bikes combine both competition and all-round characteristics, the crosser can once again concentrate on what it is made for: fast chases over hill and dale.

The competition cross bike is sharpening its profile again with ever more finely subdivided racing bike categories. Technically, the bikes are benefiting enormously from new developments. Disc brakes are replacing weak and stuttering cantilever calipers, tubeless tyres are replacing the annoying glued tubular tyres. New drivetrains with a chainring are also a good alternative for short-distance racing, but are only suitable for touring to a limited extent.
