The Rose, which has been upgraded to a bad weather road bike, is based on a light and solid aluminium frame, which is also available as a cross bike.

However, the specifications must have already included its use as a comfortable commuter bike - not only are there mounts for mudguards and pannier rack, but even a kickstand can be bolted to the rear triangle without an adapter. Two spacer rings also allow the length of the head tube - and therefore the riding position - to be adjusted between moderately sporty and very comfortable without compromising on looks. The components are comparatively high-end, making the bike the lightest, but also by far the most expensive bike in the test. The hydraulic Shimano brakes are particularly impressive. The light is elaborately
integrated into the good mudguards, the only pity is that there is no parking light function at the rear. Wide top tyres with reflective strips are useful for use, but cost extra.

CONCLUSION Almost luxuriously equipped bike with a choice of upright or moderate seating position, beautifully integrated lighting system
