Simplon Pavo 3 Red
As the lightest complete bike in the test, the Simplon Pavo 3 Red impresses with its impressive riding characteristics.

The 840 gram, formally unspectacular frame offers outstanding stiffness values in the steering head and bottom bracket. The short head tube places the handlebars low down - perfect for racers. 25 millimetre wide tyres and the well-sprung carbon seat post convey a pleasantly cushioned riding impression. The in-house handlebars also have an excellent grip. The riding pleasure was slightly spoilt because the Red rear derailleur from SRAM could not be adjusted precisely. This was probably caused by the cable between the frame and derailleur being too short, which SRAM derailleurs are particularly sensitive to. Unfortunately, Simplon only offers the bike in five sizes. There are also no wheels with better aero performance in the modular programme.

CONCLUSION Lightest complete bike, very stable, race-orientated riding position. Equipment from the modular system. Only five sizes
