So far, the Vial Evo has mainly been perceived as an extreme lightweight bike. The shape of the down tube, whose Kammtail profile saves a few watts against the wind, qualifies it for participation in this test. The 55 millimetre high carbon rims manufactured by AX Lightness do the rest. However, the real argument in favour of the bike remains its weight. 5.4 kilos is quite a lot considering the equipment with Dura-Ace Di2 and aero rims. The reliable large-series groupset and solid stiffness values guarantee problem-free riding characteristics. The riding position is more tour-orientated than race-orientated. This is complemented by the high level of suspension comfort provided by the combination of a well-flexing seatpost and voluminous tubular tyres.
CONCLUSION Extremely lightweight construction, made in Germany. Good stiffness values, top suspension comfort, comfortable riding position. Very expensive
