Alongside the Noah Fast with its spectacularly integrated carbon brakes, the Noah SL, on which André Greipel took his four stage wins in the last Tour de France, looks almost conventional.

With normal Dura-Ace brakes and a BSA threaded bottom bracket, it is the most uncomplicated of all the bikes in the test from a mechanic's point of view - definitely a selling point. The frame is also aerodynamically good - but only when fast wheels are fitted. The standard own-brand wheels with 45 millimetre high carbon rims do not exploit the aero potential, and the brakes also rub. This was the only discordant note; in the practical test, the bike seemed more stable than the measured value suggests. With a mechanical Dura-Ace groupset and durable DT Swiss hubs, the bike is well equipped and ready for many kilometres.

CONCLUSION Straightforward, solid racing bike. Tuning potential for wheels. Hardly any complicated integration solutions
