The moderate aero result (220 watts) of the Transonic is deceptive because it is largely determined by the carbon wheels of the Oval own brand.

The fact that the frame is not bad aerodynamically is shown in the comparison measurement with Zipp 404 wheels; then the Transonic catches up with the good midfield of the test. Tektro direct-mount brakes blend in well visually, but twist more than Shimano brakes; they still do their job satisfactorily thanks to pads that are well matched to the carbon rims. The upper handlebars, which are curved towards the rider, are comfortable to grip and the firm saddle is comfortable. However, you can't hope for much suspension comfort on this stable bike. At least the 25 millimetre wide tyres counteract the vertical stiffness with some suspension travel. The mechanical Red groupset from SRAM reduces the weight and keeps the price reasonably in check.

CONCLUSION Technically and visually coherent, reasonably affordable. But needs fast wheels to be really fast.
