Test 2016 1000 euro road bikes: Stevens San Remo
With a neutral riding position and smooth handling, the Stevens is recommended for a wide audience.

The frame looks modern and appealing with its internally routed cables and fresh accents, but at second glance the finish is a little rough. The frameset is quite heavy with the fork and aluminium steerer tube, which together with the inexpensive components results in the high overall weight. Heavy
riders can rely on high stiffness reserves in all respects. Due to the classic geometry, the aluminium seat post can't be extended very far and therefore offers hardly any comfort - this is somewhat mitigated by the comfortable saddle and the 25 mm tyres. Otherwise, the equipment is functional and problem-free, but also nothing special: Shimano's Tiagra works smoothly and even includes a 32 t mountain sprocket; the simple Shimano wheels are solid, but heavy.

CONCLUSION Solid but relatively heavy all-rounder. Simple but well-functioning components, little comfort
