Apart from the high weight, there is nothing technically wrong with the frame, the very high stiffness values are also reassuring for heavy riders. However, at 9.4 kilograms, the Cube is the second heaviest bike in the test, although the wheels also play a part in this. Shimano's latest Tiagra drivetrain is in no way inferior to the 105 except for one sprocket less, and the Cube even has a 1:1 gear ratio with a 34 cassette for very steep climbs. The brakes, on the other hand, show significantly less bite than the more expensive models, which is mainly due to the cheaper pads. We liked the bike's ease of maintenance: a five-point Allen key is sufficient for the most important adjustments to the gears, brakes, handlebars, stem and seatpost.
CONCLUSION Very stable comfort model with functional but heavy equipment. Recommended for heavy riders
