For the lightweight yet stiff carbon frame, Trek has modified the IsoSpeed coupling between the top tube and seat tube, which is familiar from the Domane comfort model. The pivot point, where the tubes are connected by a ball bearing, has been moved slightly to the rear. The effect is so noticeable that you feel like you're riding with one bar less pressure in your tyres. The equipment with Di2 gears fulfils the highest functional demands, but does not pay attention to the last gram. A lighter body, which would drive up the price even more, and tubular tyres on lightweight wheels would make the Boone the ultimate cross bike.
What the testers say
Falko Technically the most exciting frame of all. Rides like on tubular tyres. The trick with the joint in the frame works.
Oliver The rear suspension flexes really well and the saddle is very comfortable. Perfect for the second half of the race when your strength is waning.
