The Stevens wasn't and isn't a real cornering machine; the riding position is a little too stretched out for that. Nevertheless, the bike set by far the fastest lap times on the test track. The main reason for this: The supple Challenge tubular tyres. Even if the Grifo is not the first choice for deep ground, no folding tyre comes close to the grip and comfort of the glued tyres. The Hamburg-based company fished the equipment out of its huge modular system: you can't get much more than that. In terms of price, however, mechanical gears and aluminium wheels would make it significantly cheaper (from €2,699).
What the testers say
Oliver You sit quite long. The tubular tyres roll superbly and flatten every root. However, the Grifo profile reaches its limits in mud.
