Rose's modular system allows for many equipment variants. We ordered the Xeon Team CGF with a complete Ultegra groupset. The frame is on the borderline between race and comfort geometry and allows a fairly relaxed position. The suspension values on the saddle and fork are excellent, especially the performance of the fork, which weighs less than 300 grams and combines the best lateral stiffness with top comfort, is almost sensational. The Streem handlebars from Ritchey with ergonomically shaped top bar are a good choice. The stiff DT Swiss wheels follow the trend towards wider rims and are a perfect match for the 25 mm Conti tyres; however, the front rim could have been better finished at the bump. A second point of criticism concerns the rear direct-mount brakes, which can touch the rim when adjusted tightly when pedalling. The discrepancy between the test bike and the purchased bike, which weighed 230 grams more and had a technically inferior fork, was striking (see interview on page 39). Although the purchased bike would also have scored well (calculated overall score of 1.8), it did not quite live up to the promise of the test bike.
