Comfortable, very stable, with many clever details. Sophisticated and robust add-on parts, but relatively heavy

The Roubaix is considered the prototype of the comfort road bike, and now there is also a version with disc brakes. The riding position on the bike is one of the most upright in the test field, although you can also sit quite sportily without spacers and with an adjustable stem. The frame set, painted in bright orange, is reassuringly stiff and stable, while the seat post, which seems somewhat bizarre due to its special shape, effectively absorbs small bumps. The equipment plays a large part in making this the heaviest bike in the test, but the parts are robust and carefully designed and selected: A thickly padded handlebar with a large contact surface, the comfortable saddle, stable wheels with 25-millimetre tyres and the wide range of gear ratios make the bike the ideal companion for long, challenging routes.
