Striking, highly profiled tubes, a "lowered" head tube, fork blades with an implied S-shape and lots of typography: the appearance of the SLR is almost exalted, contrary to Hanseatic conventions. Although the shape doesn't pay off as expected in the wind tunnel, the bike is a lot of fun on the road. The steering behaviour is very agile, the stiffness values are not critical and the riding position is moderately sporty compared to the competition in this test. Compared to the SLR tested in TOUR 4/10, the fully retractable aero seatpost is worlds better. Remarkable about the equipment from the Stevens modular system are the aero wheels from their own brand Scorpo with 85 millimetre high carbon rims for folding tyres; the spoking technology and hubs come from Citec, and the cool Boller sound comes free of charge.
