After the lightweight Vuelta frame from the Hamburg-based modular supplier, which we tested in TOUR 1/11, the Izoard, the second of three aluminium models from Stevens, also cuts a fine figure. The frameset including fork remains just under two kilos and is therefore in the midfield of the test. High stiffness values recommend it for heavy riders, yet the riding impression is not too harsh. The finish is also appealing: individual cross-sections of the top tube and down tube characterise the look, while white and red decor peps up the black anodised surface. The good equipment is an example of the many possibilities of the Stevens modular system. There's not much to say about the Ultegra groupset, the saddle is comfortable and the Grand Prix 4000 S tyres from Conti give an upper-class riding impression.
