The carbon frame of the Izoard is just over the magic one-kilo mark. The stiff frame with internal cables forms the basis for a model that is typical of the Hamburg-based company: rock solid and unobtrusive. Thanks to the high steering head stiffness and relatively long wheelbase, the bike runs very smoothly. 2,000 euros is very fair for a specialist dealer bike with a complete Ultegra; unlike other Stevens models, the Izoard does not have a modular option. However, the functionally flawless equipment leaves little to be desired. Only the tyres and the hard seat post could be improved. The new GrandSport tyres from Continental, which are made in China, roll significantly heavier compared to the top tyres from the same manufacturer.
