Stevens Aspin SL 2014
Stable, fairly light aluminium frame complete with Ultegra groupset. Sporty, moderate riding position, many sizes.

As the best specialist dealer bike in the test, the Aspin delivers a convincing performance. Stevens has responded to our criticism of the high weight of the frameset a year ago. The well-made aluminium frame and fork have lost more than 350 grams without any significant reduction in stiffness. The riding position has become much more relaxed and suitable for marathons. Only Müsing and Bulls offer the complete Ultegra with 22 gears in this comparison. The new groupset is a real incentive to buy. Not only have the shifting and braking functions been further improved compared to the previous groupset; the slimmer grips are also more comfortable to hold. Apart from the great groupset, the Aspin offers solid fare. Sturdy Mavic wheels and own-brand components may not arouse any fascination, but they work perfectly and keep the price in check.
