Marcel Kittel has already sprinted to three stage wins at the 2017 Tour de France - on his new Specialized Venge with disc brakes. We took a close look at the German top sprinter's bike

With his millimetre victory on stage 7, Marcel Kittel drew level with the most successful German Tour de France starter Erik Zabel in terms of victories. On the 10th stage to Bergerac on Tuesday, 11 July, the Quickstep pro took his fourth victory in this year's Tour, making him the sole German record holder.

In this picture, Kittel's Venge is still parked in front of the team bus in Düsseldorf. After exactly 203.5 kilometres at the finish line in Liège, the sprinter ace celebrated victory number one on his racing car.

In the meantime, the lettering on the top and down tube has been painted a subtle green and the handlebar tape is also shining in the sprinter's colour.

The disc model fitted to Kittel's Venge is the hydraulic disc brake of the new Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 groupset, which is not yet available to buy.

Here is a view from behind. The rounded edges were clearly noticeable to prevent cuts in the event of a fall.
