7,000 for a cross bike is a high price, which is somewhat put into perspective by the fact that Specialized supplies two wheel sets: one with carbon rims and tubular tyres for racing and a second with aluminium clincher rims for training.

The testers completed the ride test with the racing wheels - and were blown away. They make the bike impressively light-footed. The functionally impressive Red groupset from SRAM reinforces the impression of a perfect racing machine. In view of the high stiffness values, it is astonishing that the testers attest to the bike's good damping. The overall set-up with the elastomer-damped seat post and Specialized's own Terra tubular tyres play a key role here.
