The models affected by the recall are the Roubaix, Ruby, Diverge and Sirrus models, which were sold between autumn 2016 and 2018. In terms of model year, these are the 2017 to 2019 models.
"The head tube clamp may be susceptible to stress corrosion cracking, which could lead to a sudden loss of steering," reads a statement. Specialized advises to stop using the bikes immediately and to take them to the "nearest authorised Specialized dealer for a free repair".
The "Future Shock" system is mounted above the head tube so that it can flex vertically. By installing springs, Specialized promises to improve the handling characteristics on uneven roads.
