Test 2015: Haibike Challenge SL
The frame of the Challenge SL - technically identical to that of the Ghost - is a trustworthy basis without any weaknesses. The fact that it weighs a few grams less is probably due to the sparing application of paint.

The reason for the extra weight of the complete bike must therefore be found in the equipment. The groupless Shimano cranks and the simpler 105 rear derailleur are the explanation - both increase the weight, but do not affect the function and explain the 100 euro lower price. The slim aluminium handlebars with thin handlebar tape require the rider to have good grip, but this could easily be remedied. Otherwise, there are no points of criticism, the cassette with 32 sprockets takes the fear out of steep climbs, the colour-matching Mavic Akksium wheels are tried and tested and durable.

CONCLUSION Technically flawless frame; comfort-orientated geometry; equipment at class level
