Test 2015: Felt F5
With the F5, Felt is sending a thoroughbred sports bike into the race. The amazingly light frameset with a race-like stretched seating position is ideal for entering the racing circuit.

With a comfort-enhancing carbon seatpost, the good and light Prologo saddle and simple but also light wheels, Felt pushes the total weight to under 8 kilos - a rare exception in this price range. There is still enough potential to trim the bike towards the 7-kilo mark with tuning tricks; from this point of view, the Felt is an attractive basis for many years when demands increase. We would soon replace the tyres and the aluminium handlebars, which are uncomfortable to grip. With higher-quality wheels, the Felt would take another leap forward.

CONCLUSION Relatively light, very sporty frame set. Ideal for beginners
