The mail order company Rose has thoroughly refreshed the successful "Pro SL" aluminium frame for 2009. The most important innovations: Brake and gear cables run through Teflon sleeves in the frame, the bottom bracket shell is threadless. The bearings are located directly in the frame instead of in external shells. Rose chose the so-called "Pressfit" or "BB86" standard for Shimano cranks, which is also used by Scott and Giant. In addition to the simple assembly, the high bottom bracket stiffness speaks in favour of this solution. Little has changed in terms of the bike's excellent handling. The "Pro SL" is a fun machine par excellence, ideal for powerful sprints and rapid descents. The great impression is rounded off by impeccable equipment; outstanding features include the SLR saddle, the ergonomic FSA handlebars and the attractive wheelset from Easton.
